Online Payments Card, Bank, PayPal and Venmo on Every Invoice
Card and bank payments through Stripe are Pro, with a 0.5% fee capped at $10 per payment on top of Stripe’s own fee. PayPal and Venmo links are free on every plan.
Your customer opens the invoice from a link or a QR code and pays it there. Card and bank payments go through Stripe, straight into your own Stripe account, and the invoice records the payment and marks itself paid. PayPal and Venmo are links to your own accounts with the amount already filled in.
Your own Stripe account, not ours
Setup connects a Stripe account that belongs to your business. The customer’s money goes into that account, and Stripe pays it out to your bank on Stripe’s schedule. Equipment Tracker never holds it.
You set it up once. On the phone it is in Settings, Company Profile, in the box headed ONLINE PAYMENTS (CARD OR BANK). On the web dashboard it is SETTINGS & PAYMENTS on the Invoices page. Agree to the payment terms, tap SET UP ONLINE PAYMENTS, and Stripe walks you through its own sign-up. If Stripe needs more from you, the button reads FINISH STRIPE SETUP. Once you are set up, MANAGE PAYMENTS ACCOUNT opens your Stripe account.
Stripe accounts are set up for businesses in the United States, and invoices are in US dollars.
What the customer sees
The invoice’s own web page shows the invoice, your logo and details, and a Pay button for the amount owed. Paying by card, bank account, Apple Pay or Google Pay happens on Stripe’s own secure checkout page. The options offered are the ones switched on in your Stripe account.
The customer needs no account and no app. The same page has Pay with PayPal and Pay with Venmo buttons if you use them, and a button to print it or save it as a PDF.
They reach the page from the link SEND TO CUSTOMER sends, or by scanning the SHOW INVOICE code on your screen with SHOW TO CUSTOMER.
A paid invoice marks itself paid
When a card or bank payment goes through, it is recorded on the invoice for you, with the method, and the balance drops. Your phone gets a notification naming the invoice and the amount paid.
The page always asks for what is still owed. If the customer paid part by check and you recorded it, the online payment is for the rest.
Once the invoice is paid, SEND RECEIPT sends the customer the same page, now marked paid in full.
What it costs
Card and bank payments need Pro. The customer’s page reads the invoice from the cloud, and cloud sync is part of Pro.
Stripe charges its own processing fee on each payment. Equipment Tracker adds 0.5% of the payment, capped at $10, so a $4,000 invoice paid online costs you $10 on top of Stripe’s fee, not $20. Section 20 of the Terms of Service sets this out.
PayPal and Venmo links cost nothing extra from us on any plan. PayPal and Venmo charge whatever they charge you for the payment itself.
PayPal and Venmo, free on every plan
Put your PAYPAL.ME USERNAME and VENMO USERNAME in Settings, Company Profile. While money is owed, every invoice carries links with the amount filled in: on its web page, on the PDF, and as PAY WITH PAYPAL and PAY WITH VENMO codes in SHOW TO CUSTOMER.
The app cannot see a PayPal or Venmo payment arrive. When one does, open the invoice, tap + RECORD PAYMENT and pick VIA PAYPAL or VIA VENMO.
On or off, per invoice
SHOW ON INVOICES in Company Profile switches a way to pay off for every invoice, without touching your Stripe account or usernames. On any one invoice, WAYS TO PAY ON THIS INVOICE has three switches of its own: Pay online (Stripe), PayPal links and Venmo links.
Turn Pay online off and that invoice’s page stops offering card and bank payment, including on a link you already sent.

Does a PayPal or Venmo payment show up automatically?
No. Those are links to your own PayPal.me and Venmo accounts, and the app cannot see what arrives there. Record the payment with + RECORD PAYMENT and VIA PAYPAL or VIA VENMO.
