I still work in the field. Equipment Tracker Pro started because I was doing what everyone I work with does: photographing a data plate, typing twenty fields into a spreadsheet back at the truck, and hoping I could read my own handwriting about the filter size six months later. Half the time the record never got made at all, because there was no signal on the roof and by the time there was, I was on the next call.
So the app works offline first — the record is written on the phone and syncs when it can — and the camera does the typing. Everything in it exists because I needed it on a job, not because it tested well. That is also why the core tracking is free and stays free: the version I needed at 7am on a roof shouldn't have a paywall on it.
Who this is not for
It is worth being straight about this, because the wrong fit wastes your time more than mine:
- If you have 50+ techs and a procurement process, you want an enterprise CMMS with an implementation team and an SLA. That is not this, and I am not going to pretend otherwise to win the sale.
- If you need dispatch, invoicing and payroll in one system, this is not a full field-service platform. It tracks equipment and the work done to it.
- If you want a salesperson to walk you through a rollout, there isn't one. There is a free tier, a 7-day Pro trial, and me answering the support email.
It is for the tech, the maintenance supervisor, the property manager and the facilities crew who need a permanent, searchable record of what's installed and what's been done to it — and who need it to work in a basement with no bars.

I have been in need of a formal equipment tracker for 15+ years of mechanical / HVAC service work! This application provides detailed mechanical equipment tracking, photos with ease of generating reports to share with field technicians, office workers and customers. I highly recommend this to anyone that finds the need to be detailed, organized and professional. 5 starts!!
This app makes tracking equipment so much easier. The AI scanner is fast and pulls model and serial numbers right off the nameplates, which saves a ton of time. The new updates for work orders and the maintenance calendar are great, and I really like that the field tools are free. It is simple to use and keeps everything organized by building. Highly recommend!
